Eastern Command GOC visits Sikkim's border areas

Darjeeling: Lt. Gen M M Naravane, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Command visited border areas in the state of Sikkim on Tuesday, where he is on a visit currently.

"The Army Commander, accompanied by the GOC, Trishakti Corps visited forward areas, where he was briefed on the security situation along the border and also interacted with the troops," stated an army release.

The Commander had arrived on a three-day visit at Sukna in Darjeeling district on January 28. On arrival at Sukna, the Army Commander was received by Lt. Gen C P Mohanty, GOC, Trishakti Corps. He was briefed on operational situation and preparedness.
