COVID- 19 claims life of a monk of Ramakrishna Mission in New York
Kolkata: COVID- 19 has claimed the life of a monk of Ramakrishna Mission in New York.
Swami Anasaktananda polularly known as Martin Maharaj died at Mount Sinai Hospital. He had a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital on March 22. At hospital he was tested COVID- 19 positive. Though the doctors and the medical team were hopeful about his recovery, his condition worsened in the past few days due to the damage to his heart, kidneys and lungs. He died in sleep on April 7.
Initiated by Swami Nikhilanandaji in 1973 he joined the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Centre of New York. He received his sanyasa from Swami Bhuteshanandaji in 1994.
Meanwhile, Texas Police of USA has thanked Bidhannagar City Police for helping family members of several Non Resident Indians (NRI) amid the pandemic situation. Chief of Cyber Crime and Covert Operations of Texas Police identified as K. Sanyal sent a note of thank to Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar appreciating the actions taken by Bidhannagar City Police.
