Corona scare: 24x7 Control room set up in South Dinajpur

BALURGHAT: In the wake of Coronavirus scare, a 24x7 Control Room has been set up in South Dinajpur to address queries related to the virus.

"A full-fledged Control Room has been opened for public interest in the district and the people may contact by dialing 7477786497 for any query relating to novel Coronavirus. A medical officer has also been deputed for the purpose," said District Magistrate Nikhil Nirmal in a press conference on Wednesday.

He said the officials from district administration and Health department have conducted a high-level meeting already to chalk out strategies and enhance preparedness to fight the spread of Coronavirus. According to him, there has been no COVID-19 positive case in South Dinajpur so far. Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Sukumar Dey, who was present in the press meet, said that the district health department has opened 15 isolation wards in two hospitals, with 5 in Balurghat and 10 in Gangarampur.
