Cops hunt for criminal who threatened restro owner

The Kolkata police learnt that Shekh Binod, a dreaded criminal has given death threat to a city restaurant owner.
While threatening the restaurant owner, Binod demanded Rs 5 lakh.

The scared restaurant owner did not go to the police fearing for the well being of his family members. He stopped talking to his neighbours and confined himself into a room. He also faced a huge loss in his restaurant business.

Ultimately he gathered up the courage and went to the Kolkata Police Headquarters – Lalbazar. Showing bravado, he lodged compliant with the police.

He gave the details of the incident to the investigators and the anti-rowdy section of Kolkata police and Karaya Police Station started the investigation.

The restaurant owner alleged that he received phone calls from Shekh Binod asking him to give the money.

"Two persons with firearms came to me. They pointed a gun at me and asked for money.

They gave me a few weeks to collect the amount. Later, some motorbike-borne miscreants started to follow me in roads and were even seen in front of my restaurant. I was confident that they were not customers, but they were men sent by Shekh Binod," he said. Police have started an investigation.
