CM urges cops to check rumours, fake news about COVID-19

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee directed the police to keep a close watch so that no fake news gets circulated, leading to panic among people over COVID-19.
After holding a high-level meeting at Nabanna Sabhaghar, Banerjee said at a press conference: "Keep a close watch so that no one is able to spread rumours and fake news. I would also urge the police to take necessary steps in this connection."
Urging common people not to panic unnecessarily, the Chief Minister added: "There is nothing to panic. Don't be overconfident and take all precautionary measures."
