CM to allocate Rs. 10 lakh from her MLA LAD fund to beautify Potua Para

The state government is considering taking up a project for beautification of Potua Para at Kalighat, which is a heritage site.

The Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will allot Rs 10 lakh from her MLA LAD fund for the beautification of the area. It is learnt that the work for beautification of the heritage site would be taken up soon and necessary instruction has also been given to the concerned department.

It may be mentioned that the state government had taken several steps for beautification of important places. Beautification of banks of river Hooghly had been a major project of the Mamata Banerjee government.

Moreover, Banerjee had said in a recent programme, that the state government would not ask for anyone else's help or support to maintain the heritage of the state.
