Kolkata: A week ahead of Ramadan, Muslim clerics urged the people to not host iftar party and perform the Taraweeh namaz-special night namaz during the Ramadan, staying indoors amid the ongoing lockdown. "Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, we request all the Muslims to stay indoors during Ramadan and offer their prayers. They should not conduct iftar party for relatives and friends," said Moulana Shafique Qasmi, imam of Nakhoda Masjid popularly known as Badi Masjid of Kolkata. "I urge people to perform Taraweeh in their home. They should not perform Taraweeh namaz in their terrace in big masses," said Qasmi.
