Class X girl found dead beside railway track in Chandipur

Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a Madhyamik examinee whose body was found beside the railway track in Chandipur, East Midnapore, on Monday morning.
The police said that the victim, Suparna Mondal, was a local resident.
The guard of a Digha-Santragachi train saw Suparna lying unconscious beside the track and informed the Government Railway Police (GRP) who took the body to a hospital. She was declared brought dead. The police have sent the body for an autopsy.
The police initiated a probe and got details about the victim from her identify card and contacted her family members to inform them about the incident.
A police officer said that the victim's bag was found near her body.
The police spoke to locals to know if they could give any clues about the incident.
An officer said that they are first trying to ascertain whether the death was homicidal, suicidal in nature or an accident.
The police have spoken to the victim's family members to know whether they had a tiff with anyone in the recent past. In which case, the death of the Class X girl could be an outcome of rivalry with someone. The police also wanted to know whether she was depressed for the past few days or had a quarrel with anyone.
The police are probing whether she was pushed from a moving train.
The police will also speak to motormen of all the trains that passed through the area since the morning. The police have ruled out the possibility of the girl being hit by a train as the incident would have been reported by the motorman of the train. The police will speak to some of her friends for clues. They are also trying to ascertain whether she was killed elsewhere and later dumped beside the tracks.
