CID raids Naktala home of Bharati Ghosh's husband

Kolkata: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has conducted a raid at the Naktala house of former IPS officer Bharati Ghosh's husband MAV Raju on Tuesday.

The investigating officers took Raju along with them while conducting the search operation in the house.

Raju was arrested by CID on August 7 in connection with the Daspur case, in which gold was taken from traders assuring a high rate of return, after demonetisation of high value notes was announced.

A senior officer of CID said that the raid was conducted for around three hours and they have seized six pendrives and one hard disc.

The investigating officers are considering that they would be getting many documents from the seized sources that will help them get many leads to proceed with their investigation. Raju was arrested after the Calcutta High Court rejected his plea for anticipatory bail. He was taken to the CID headquarters at Bhabani Bhavan, soon after the arrest.
