Chandranath Sinha inaugurates Bhuribhoj restaurant & 7 kitchen on wheel vehicles

Kolkata: State Fisheries minister Chandranath Sinha inaugurated Bhuribhoj restaurant and seven kitchen on wheel vehicles at Nalban Food Park on Wednesday.

Pradip Mazumdar, adviser to the Chief Minister on agriculture and allied sectors and Subrata Mukherjee, Managing Director, State Fisheries Development Corporation were present on the occasion.

"Today, we inaugurated Bhujbhuri restaurant for people the along the along the water body. Along with it seven ready to meal vehicles were also inaugurated," said the minister.

The vehicles, equipped with cooking facilities, will have different fish items. It will move about the city from 8 am to 8 pm.

The inauguration of the vehicles comes three days ahead of the Ilish Utsav scheduled to start from August 31. The festival will conclude on September 4.

"Chief minister Mamata Banerjee has a dream to make Bengal sonar bangla. We are trying to make her dream come true. People coming to Bhuribhoj will have a leisure time with family, friends and loved ones along with beautiful scenery of the water body," Sinha added.

The new restaurant will serve food at a nominal price. The items at the restaurant include fish, chick and meat.

"People coming to the Bhujbhuri restaurant will be served food at a very low rate," said Mukherjee.

While, Bengal exports one tone of fish abroad, the state

government is trying its level

best to improve the production of fish.

The Nalban Food Park, located beside the waterbody, is a major crowd-puller with a chain of specialty restaurants, including All Fish Restaurant of the State Fisheries Development Corporation. During weekends, a good number of people drop in to dine at the Nalban Food Park.

The state Fisheries department had organised the three-day 'Bengal Fish Fest 2019' at Nalban Food Park in Salt Lake Sector V in January.
