Cattle smuggling case: CID raids office of a pvt firm in Kolkata

kolkata: State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has conducted a raid at the office of a private company on Thursday which reportedly belongs to the nephews of Enamul Haque, who is the prime accused in coal and cattle smuggling cases being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

A raid was conducted there by the CID sleuths on Wednesday and the offices were sealed.

According to sources, while conducting raids at the rice mills in Murshidabad last week, CID officials came to know about the office of the JHM group located at a building on Bentinck Street.

On Wednesday, CID officials went to the two offices located at the 401 and 405, Bentinck Street. The offices were sealed on Wednesday night. On Thursday again, CID officials went to those offices and conducted search operations. CID informed that the JHM group belongs to Humayun Kabir, Jahangir Alam and Mehedi Hasan, who are the nephews of Haque. Several documents were seized from these two offices.

It may be mentioned that Haque was arrested by the CBI and at present he is in judicial custody in connection with the cattle smuggling case investigated by the central agency.
