'Bring more Japanese in Bengal to increase investments'
Kolkata: The Bengal Government is very sincere, active, and doing quite well in its efforts to bring investments to the state, according to Masayuki Taga, Consul General of Japan, Consulate General of Japan, Kolkata.
"Apart from creating a strong eco-system and good infrastructure for businesses, the Bengal Government is trying to build a positive image, and that's a positive exercise," Taga said at the Manufacturing Excellence 2018 organised by CII on
Wednesday afternoon.
"This is quite a prudent approach on its part in view of the stiff competition among the states for getting investments. Here my suggestion is: get as many Japanese as possible here in Bengal. Let them to see for themselves what the state is all about and whether it is worth investing in. In fact, more Japanese must know of Bengal's potential as a rewarding investment destination. The more potential Japanese investors visit the state, the better for Bengal," Taga observed.
"A lot of changes have taken place and a conducive industrial climate has come about in Bengal in the past few years," Taga said. "Let more people know about this, and the moment they will know about the changes, investments will flow," Taga added.
