Boy kills self over scolding for playing mobile games

Kolkata: A 19-year-old boy committed suicide after being allegedly rebuked by his mother for playing games on his mobile phone.

Police sources informed that they found Soumajit Paul's body hanging from an iron road inside his residence at Bagan Para under Regent Park police station area on Sunday morning. Investigations revealed that the boy was Christian and introvert by nature. He was rebuked by his mother on Saturday night for playing games on the phone.

Paul had passed his Higher Secondary this year and was studying law. He wanted to be an advocate.

The police have seized his mobile phone and are questioning his family members and neighbours to know what prompted the teenager to take the extreme step.
