Bombs hurled at TMC office in East Burdwan
Kolkata: Unidentified miscreants hurled bombs at the office of Trinamool Congress at Galsi in East Burdwan on Thursday morning.
Police came to know after preliminary investigation that some miscreants had come at around 2 am in the area and started ransacking valuables in the party office. Soon after, they started hurling petrol bombs outside the office.
However, no one was injured in the incident. But it created panic among the people in the area.
A programme was going on in the vicinity, where a large number of people had gathered. They went towards the party office, hearing loud noises. Seeing the people approaching the party office, the miscreants attempted to flee. But local people reached the spot before the miscreants could leave the place. The situation turned worse when they started hurling bricks at each other, following which the miscreants managed to flee from the area in a car.
Police went to the spot and spoke to local people to know about the entire incident. Subsequently, they initiated a probe and conducted raids at different places in search of the people involved. On Thursday morning, police found the car of the miscreants in front of a building a few kilometers away from the spot. They also found some plastic containers of petrol in the car. They are continuing with the probe to nab the miscreants.
