Body with injuries found near Howrah Bridge
Kolkata: The body of man was found from a vat of a housing complex near Howrah bridge Monday morning.
According to sources, sleuths have identified multiple injury marks on the body.
According to local residents, on Monday around 9 am, some residents of the housing complex noticed a person was lying unconsciously near the vat.
Immediately, Golabari police station was informed. Police rushed the man to Howrah District Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
During search, sleuths found a packet of 'ganja' from the deceased's pocket.
Police have also found some plastic-sheets which the deceased might had used to save himself from rain last night.
It is suspected that the person might had gone to the housing complex in an intoxicated condition.
As a result, while walking he lost his balance and fell. He suffered injuries on his head and he allegedly died lying on the spot.
Though no foul play could be suspected, sleuths are waiting for the autopsy report as it will establish the exact cause of death.
Police are trying to establish his identity.
