Body of businessman found at Tiljala godown
Kolkata: A leather goods trader of Tiljala was found dead inside an abandoned godown under mysterious circumstances. The incident sparked tension among locals of Tiljala at Park Circus bridge number 4 on early Friday morning.
Some locals spotted the victim lying unconscious inside the go-down. They reported the matter to his family. The victim was immediately rushed to Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital where the doctors pronounced him brought dead.
After being informed, police reached the spot and started a detailed probe. The family members of the victim alleged that he had been murdered following some quarrel and demanded a high-level inquiry into the incident.
Police said the victim, Ibral Alam (33), a resident of Tiljala, went to the godown on Thursday night that was earlier used for stocking various leather items. The family members of the victim also informed that he never stayed at the nearby godown during the night.
Sahil Khan, deceased's elder brother, told the police that someone had called him up on
Thursday night following which he left the house.
The victim had several injury marks on his body, suggesting that a scuffle might have broken out between the victim and assailants.
The victim's elder brother told the police that he had problems with three youths, who used to work under the businessman. They might be been involved in the murder, claimed Khan.
Interestingly, it is learnt that all the three accused have been absconding since the incident took place. Police are conducting raids to nab the accused. The family members suggested that it was a pre-planned murder. The body has been sent for an autopsy.
