BJP's Shamik to visit CID office today

BJP leader Shamik Bhattacharya will visit the office of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Bhawani Bhavan in connection with the alleged corruption related to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.
Bhattacharya was about to turn up at the CID headquarters on Friday but for certain reasons, he had failed to do so. He had, however, ensured all co-operation to the investigating officers to probe into the incident and informed the concerned officers that it would not be possible for him to turn up at their office on Friday.
It may be recalled that following a complaint lodged with Basirhat police station alleging that money has been taken from the complainant after assuring help to get benefits under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a probe had been initiated. The case was later taken up by the CID and after going through several documents in this connection, the investigating officers summoned Bhattacharya. The CID officers are also probing the role of Ranjit Pal and Bikash Singh in this connection. Sources said the CID officers would verify the facts that they have stumbled upon regarding the case.
