KOLKATA: Bhagirathi Neotia Woman and Child Care Centre (BNWCCC) has opened the doors of a new centre at New Town, Rajarhat. Chairman Harshavardhan Neotia, Advisor Madhu Neotia and Vice-Chairman P L Mehta graced the inaugural ceremony on Thursday.
The new hospital, spread over 90,000 Sq ft, is benchmarked with international standards of maternity and neonatal care and is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure that conforms to the highest standards of healthcare.
Spread across 9 levels with quick accessibility from the airport, it is the perfect destination for outstation maternity cases and medical tourists. The hospital has 125 beds exclusively for women and children, with 75 percent women staff on board.
BNWCCC New Town is fully equipped to handle maternal and neonatal medical conditions, including critical care with an Adult ICU as well as a Level 3 NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) that is equipped to handle any critical, sensitive and expert neonatal and pediatric care.
The hospital is designed keeping functionality as well as aesthetics in mind, with additional features like play area for kids accompanying the OPD, diagnostic lab and visitors' cafeteria with a large seating area with ambient natural light.
Additionally, BNWCCC New Town introduces futuristic healthcare by introducing progressive healing techniques like 'Music Therapy' along with modern medicines. 'Music therapy' primarily helps women and children improve their health in several domains, such as cognitive functioning, motor skills, emotional development and social skills, apart from enriching their quality of life, by using both active and passive music experiences and therapy, which is rejuvenating in itself.
BNWCCC New Town aims to provide a holistic ambience for the children as well as their mothers by running 'expert childbirth classes or LAMAZE Classes', which has been proven internationally to increase a mother's confidence in her ability to give birth.
It helps pregnant women understand how to cope with pain, using relaxation techniques, movement and postnatal massage.
The hospital aims to carry forward the rich legacy of its existing successful healthcare establishments like BNWCCC Rawdon Steet, NeotiaGetwelHealthcare Centre Hospital, Siliguri, the community clinic NeotiaMediplus at Garia and the multi-locational fertility chain – Genome.
