Belarus looks to invest in India for spare parts, chemical manufacturers
Kolkata: A leading automobile manufacturer from the Republic of Belarus is looking towards India and particularly Bengal for spare parts and chemical manufacturers, who use good technology and supply quality products.
A four-member delegation from the leading automotive manufacturer Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) visited Bharat Chamber of Commerce (BCC) on Saturday to explore the possibilities of procurement of automotive spare parts and raw materials for manufacturing activities
in their country.
The delegates from the Republic of Belarus interacted in a B2B discussion session with some of the leading manufacturers of engineering items, ferro alloys and other components in the Eastern India.
"MAZ procures almost 30 percent of its spare parts and component requirements from other countries. Presently, there is unstable economic conditions in the European market, and we want to diversify our geographical boundaries and India is one of the main places where we want develop our relationship for the procurement of spare parts and raw materials," said Alexei Lutsenko, Deputy Director General-Purchasing of MAZ.
According to a senior official of BCC, Bengal still has a strong manufacturing base of engineering items.
"We are hopeful that Minsk Automobile Plant can profitably explore this market for fulfilling their spare parts and raw material purchase requirements," the official added.
