New Delhi: Student unions raised their voice against the much hype of cooked facts over "biryani" while saying students are fearing now to step out from the university campus.
A student who received the notice said, "Condemn the communal hate-mongering by some media houses, blatantly spreading lies about JNU students for being fined merely for cooking food (biryani) by the VC Jagadesh Kumar. Ahead of the Gujarat election, where the BJP is facing a tough battle from the Opposition, some media houses are busy trying to shift the focus from its court and are openly batting for the BJP." "Very malicious and filthy propaganda is being initiated by these identifiable media houses," said Chepal Sherpa.
Another student, Satarupa Chakraborty said, " Cheap propaganda is being spread with blatant lies that 'beef biryani' was cooked to incite people on communal lines before Gujrat polls where the BJP sees imminent defeat.
