Bansal becomes new KMDA CEO in IAS reshuffle

Kolkata: In a reshuffle in the IAS cadre in Bengal, Sanjay Bansal has become the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).

Bansal, who is an IAS officer of the 2004 batch, has become the CEO of KMDA. He will also have the additional charge of Programme Director of the West Bengal State NGRBA Program Management Group (SPMG) and CEO of Sector VI ITA.

Bansal was earlier posted as Director of the Land Records and Surveys (DLRS), West Bengal and DEO of Kolkata South.

Bansal became the CEO of KMDA by replacing Avanindra Singh, who is an IAS officer of the 2002 batch. Singh has become the DLRS, West Bengal and DEO, Kolkata South.

Nandini Chakravorty was the secretary of the Agriculture department, with additional charge of secretary of the Food Processing Industries and Horticulture department.

She will continue as the secretary of the Food Processing Industries and Horticulture department, while senior IAS officer Naveen Prakash has been made the additional chief secretary (ACS) of the Agriculture department. He will also continue as the ACS of the Irrigation and Waterways department.

There was also a reshuffle in the WBCS (Exe) cadre. As many as 100 WBCS (Exe) officers have been transferred.

According to a senior state government official, it was a routine transfer as they have been in the posts for the past three years.
