Balurghat DM pays surprise visit to school

BALURGHAT: District Magistrate of South Dinajpur Nikhil Nirmal paid a surprise visit to Pathanpara Primary School of Gangarampur block on Friday and expressed satisfaction with the school authorities over the maintenance of surroundings of the school premises and its educational infrastructure.

Reaching the school at around 1.50 pm, the concerned District Magistrate checked the documents of the institution thoroughly, inspected classrooms and inquired about the midday meal area where cooked food is served for the students.

Speaking to Millennium Post, Nirmal said: "I have urged the school authorities to see to it that teachers regularly take classes and students also record regular attendance. We must ensure this. I have also directed the concerned head of the school to visit houses of those students who are irregular in school."

According to him the school authorities need to provide personal attention to improve the quality of education and food served for the students. He also interacted with the students and inquired about the quality of food served to them.

The DM also promised to repair the damaged kitchen immediately, so that the midday meal cooking does not get hampered.
