Apollo case: Probe committee submits final report

The final report of the six-member probe committee, which was investigating the treatment procedure of Apollo Hospitals under which Sanjay Roy, the Hooghly resident was treated, was submitted on Friday evening.

Roy later died while he was taken to SSKM hospital, after his family was unable to pay the full hospital fees.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee instructed a probe after the Apollo hospital authority received several allegations including taking fixed deposit certificates and house deeds from Roy's family.

The committee found several anomalies in the process of treatment of Roy.

The report placed before the Chief Minister indicated that Apollo authority showed negligence during the treatment of Sanjay Roy.

Earlier, a preliminary report was placed before the Chief Minister by the same committee.
