8-year-old commits suicide at home

Darjeeling: An eight-year-old boy was found hanging at his residence on Monday in Belakoba in

Jalpaiguri district.

The incident occurred at Mudipara. The deceased, Firoz Mohammad, was a student of Class 3 in a primary school located in the vicinity of his house.

On Monday, Khairul Mohammad (father of the deceased) reached home around noon and found his sons to be at home.

He had then scolded his sons for skipping schools.

His eldest and youngest son then left for school but Firoz stayed back.

Later, his family members found him hanging from the ceiling.

They brought him down and rushed him to Belakoba Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Police have started investigating the case.

The body was sent for an autopsy at Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital.
