52 skill development centres inaugurated in Purulia
Kolkata: Purnendu Basu, state minister for Technical Education, Training and Skill Development inaugurated 52 skill development training centres for rural youths in Purulia on Friday.
The centres were inaugurated under Utkarsha Bangla through Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development.
Training will be imparted on computer literacy and agriculture.
There will be a course on beauty treatment as well. On completion of the course, the trainees will be given a certificate and there will be an arrangement for their placement.
Purnendu Basu said training is given to the rural unemployed youths free of cost and Rs 50 is given to them for refreshment.
The private agency IT World has made the arrangement to provide training.
He added that before entrusting them with the job the department had studied their credentials carefully. He said the training programme has been designed in such a way that it will be of great use. There will be around 800 trainees. The programme was held in the conference hall of Nistarini College.
Shantiram Mahato, minister for Paschimanchal Unnayan Affairs department, Sandhyarani Tudu, Minister of State for Backward Classes Welfare department, Mriganka Mahato, MP and Sujoy Banerjee attended the programme.
It may be mentioned that in Purulia, Sidho Kanho Birsha University students are being given coaching in WBCS.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said over and again to students to sit for administrative examinations or start their own entrepreneurship.
