4 arrested for running fake job racket

Kolkata: Four persons have been arrested by Kasba police on Monday from Noida in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly duping several persons on the pretext of providing them with jobs. They will be brought to Kolkata on transit remand soon.

According to sources, recently two persons lodged complaints at Kasba police station alleging that some people have taken almost Rs 80 lakh from them assuring jobs at a multinational company.

Later, police initiated a case and started the investigation. While probing the case, the sleuths came to know that the accused persons used to contact job seekers and tell them about vacant jobs. They claimed to be from a job consultancy firm and said they would provide jobs to them at renowned multinational companies.

A few months ago, the accused persons contacted the complainants online and convinced them with their false promises. The accused persons had allegedly told them to provide some amount of money as security deposit. Later, they demanded more money as a registration fee and it kept continuing. The job seekers had approximately provided Rs 47 lakh and Rs 25 lakh to the alleged cheaters.

The accused persons stopped all sorts of communication after they got the money. After a few months, the two job seekers understood that they were being duped. They immediately lodged two separate complaints at Kasba police station. Police had used mobile phone tracking method to nab the culprits. A few days ago, the sleuths came to know that the accused persons are in Noida. Immediately, a team from Kasba police station went to Noida and arrested four accused persons.
