Kolkata: Three sisters who owned a shop at Parnasree, Behala were allegedly beaten up by some miscreants and told to keep their shop closed. The trio has been running a garments shop for the past 12 years.
"We were in our shop when suddenly at around 1 pm on Sunday four to five people barged into our shop and abused us. They beat up three of us and said that we should not be allowed to do business there. They even threatened us of consequences if we continue our business," one of the sisters said on conditions of anonymity
According to the complaint lodged at Parnasree police station, one of the miscreants was a local youth, Sambhu Saha, who is a real estate broker. "We are expecting further attacks and have sought police protection," said one of the victims adding that the miscreants had even threatened them of murder.
Local sources said that there has been a dispute among the three sisters regarding the share of their business and have consulted lawyers. The incident may have been a fall out of that dispute.
