2 more JMB terrorists arrested in Malda
Kolkata: Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police arrested two more Jamaatul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorists from Samsi in Malda on Tuesday morning.
On Monday, from Ultadanga area, STF had nabbed a JMB terrorist
identified as Md. Abul
Kashem alias Kashem of Mangalkote in Burdwan, who was planning to flee from Kolkata after meeting his counterparts.
According to sources, late on Sunday night, STF officials came to know from their sources that one of the JMB members was hiding somewhere around Canal East Road under Ultadanga police station's jurisdiction.
Working on source information, STF personnel came to know that Kashem was hiding at a house near Gaznabi bridge on Canal East Road.
During interrogation Kashem stated that he was waiting to meet some of his counterparts and was planning to flee to South India to take shelter. After interrogation police came to know about two more JMB terrorists hiding in Malda. Early on Tuesday morning, a team of STF reached Malda and arrested two JMB members identified as Abdul Bari and Nijamuddin Khan of North Dinajpur from Samsi area. STF officials claimed that the duo was the main organisers in JMB's North Dinajpur module. They were reportedly instructed by JMB chief Salauddin Salahein and Ejaz Ahmed, head of JMB in India to reorganise, recruit and conduct trainings for the organisation.
Following the arrest of Ahmed, Bari and Khan were hiding in order to flee from the state in order to stay underground. During search of the premises where the duo was hiding, police found several incriminating articles were and their mobile phones.
The duo was produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's (CMM) Court, Calcutta and remanded to police custody till September 16. Sources informed, Kashem had disclosed that he and many other members of the terrorist outfit were instructed by JMB chief Salahein and other leaders to meet in Kolkata and discuss further strategies. They had a plan to flee to South India in order to take shelter and work on their plans. After finding a safe hideout they were asked to reorganise themselves and to commence their respective works.
