Kolkata: The rapid antibody test conducted by the state Health department at Kolkata and Howrah on Monday has witnessed only 2 positive results, out of a total of 78 tests.
The two positive cases have been reported from Kolkata, while no one was reported positive from Howrah.
"In our continuous endeavour to ramp up COVID-19 testing upon receiving the first set of rapid test kits from ICMR day before yesterday, 78 rapid tests were carried out yesterday, with 64 in Howrah and 14 in Kolkata. Only 2 cases were found positive, both from Kolkata," mentioned a tweet from the state Health and Family Welfare department on Tuesday morning.
Rapid tests detect antibodies in the blood and indicate if a person has been infected in the past and has developed immunity to the virus.
It can show results within 30 minutes. Once a person tests positive after the antibody test, an RT-PCR test is done to confirm the result.
