2-day long Karate World Cup 2018 takes place in city

Kolkata: The two-day long Karate World Cup 2018, organized by SKAI in association with WUKF ended at Netaji Indoor Stadium in the city

on Sunday.

This is for the first time the event is taking place in India.

This is the biggest platform for all talented individuals from across the world practising various styles of Karate. This is pure selection-based game which gives international exposure and world class experience to all participants taking part in the World Cup. Contestants from different states of the country participated in this prestigious event. The winners will be handed over medals, prizes and certificates. A Certificate of participation will be provided for all candidates. Pure Silver Karate World Cup Trophy will be provided to

the Champion.

Karate World Cup 2018 is an initiative in collaboration with several governing bodies of karate and other recognised associations which plan to hold such events every 4 years interval to create a global value of Karate as Sports.

Karate World Cup 2018 is not only an umbrella platform for all the styles of Karate but this would play an important role to spread brotherhood among international countries, an organiser said.

"We are also expecting government assistance from international countries for this movement. We would use most of the generated revenue for the benefit of the practitioners and for the development of sports infrastructure to further spread sports among youths," an organiser said.
