Kochar praises Maken

On Tuesday, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) member and former Leader of the House in the MCD, Jitender Kumar Kochar, praised the move by Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Ajay Maken to utilise the playgrounds of private schools for the benefit of local children, which he felt would go a long way in the development and physical fitness of the children of Delhi.

Kochar said, 'Delhi has become a concrete jungle and children have no place to play neither any parks nor any play grounds. There are thousands of private schools in Delhi, and if these schools allow their playgrounds to be used by the local children, the shortage of playgrounds for children to indulge in sporting activity would be solved.'

Kochar also thanked Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath, who has promised to take appropriate steps in this matter. He added lakhs of poor children in Delhi would  be able to utilise the facility of playgrounds with this decision of Maken, and they can show their talent and become good sportspersons to bring laurels to the country.
