A seven-year-old boy, allegedly kidnapped earlier this month, died in captivity due to suffocation after being gagged by his abductors, who were arrested on Tuesday, police said.
Sangam was kidnapped on 1 October near Sector 10 when he was going to his father’s shop, JCP (crime) Vivek Sharma said.
The abductors had demanded a ransom of Rs 1 lakh from his parents. Police had lodged a case and were on the lookout for the abductors, Sharma said.
Sharma said the kidnappers had tied the child and gagged him with a piece of cloth, which led to his death due to suffocation.
During investigation, skeletal remains of the child were recovered from the bushes where he was kept. He was identified from his clothes by the parents, Sharma said.
