Khurshid getting patronage from Akhilesh: IAC

IAC activist Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that the Uttar Pradesh government is giving ‘patronage’ to external affairs minister Salman Khurshid for ‘vested interests’.

‘I have an apprehension that the Samajwadi Party government is trying to save Khurshid and his Dr Zakir Hussain Trust just to secure benefit from the Congress in the Disproportionate Assets(DA) case of Mulayam Singh Yadav,’ Kejriwal said. IAC turned the heat on the Congress as its activists questioned UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s silence over the corruption issue.

They called Manmohan Singh a failure and questioned Khurshid’s elevation and said this was a reward for him because he had said he would give his life for Sonia Gandhi.

‘There is a threat on our lives in UP because of a nexus between the Congress, BJP and other political parties along with corporate houses involved in corruption, he said. Kejriwal’s statement was also supported by his partner Kumar Viswas, who came along with him, saying, ‘everyone knows about the hobnobbing between the SP and the Congress’.

‘The UP government is yet to probe the irregularities of the Dr Zakir Hussain Trust, which ditched the handicapped persons of the state,’ they added.

The IAC leaders asked the people of Farrukhabad to elect a handicapped person in the next Lok Sabha elections to give the Congress a befitting reply on the corruption by Salman Khurshid and his wife Louise.

Another IAC activist Gopal Rai said that the Farrukhabad rally was against Congress. ‘’The Congress rejection on the demand of the IAC to remove Khurshid from the union cabinet till the probe against his trust is completed proves that the party is supporting a corrupt leader,’’ he said.
