Khanduri adopts flood-hit Devli Bhanigram village

Former chief minister and current BJP MP from Pauri Garhwal, BC Khanduri, has made an announcement that he will adopt Devli Bhanigram village falling in Rudraprayag district and help it develop as an ideal village.

This village bore the maximum brunt of the Kedarnath tragedy in 2013. Thirty-four women became widows as a result of the flash floods. A total of 57 villagers lost their lives including children.

‘The development of the village will transform the face of the state in the long run and also discourage the migration of villagers to cities in hunt of regular source of income. Development is our top most priority in Uttarakhand and we are least concerned about ministerial berths in the new central government,’ Khanduri said.

All the five BJP MPs here have adopted villages in their respective constituencies as dreamed and directed by PM Narendra Modi to adopt and develop any one village as ideal village by party MP of his/her constituency.
