Girri is sitting on “hunger strike” at Kejriwal’s official residence demanding “Open Debate” with the Chief Minister after the latter didn’t appear for it with him at the Constitution Club here.
“Maheish Girri forwarded the letter written by hotelier Ramesh Kakkar to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung which asked for removal of NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) legal adviser M M Khan. The LG then forwarded the letter to the NDMC chairman on the reference of Maheish Girri,” said Kejriwal to media persons.
The Chief Minister had recently alleged the involvement of Girri and former BJP MLA from Delhi Cantonment Karan Singh Tanwar who is presently NDMC Vice-Chairperson, in the murder of Khan. “Murder cases are not solved in an open debate. The police should arrest him first and interrogate him about his relationship with Kakkar. Why did he write a letter to LG on Kakkar’s behalf,” he added. He further expressed his surprise: “Is this how criminal justice system works in the Modi government that whoever is accused of murder will sit on dharna outside my home?”
AAP leader Dilip Pandey accused PMO and the Central government in shielding Girri and Tanwar.
“BJP is “saving” Maheish Girri and Karan Singh Tanwar over the murder of NDMC officer. Modiji’s police is shielding them. If the police were under the Delhi government, both Girri and Tanwar would be in jail,” said Pandey. Meanwhile, several senior BJP leaders including Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Goel and Subramanian Swamy joined Girri.
