Kejriwal writes to Omar, assures help in relief ops

Kejriwal, in his letter informed Abdullah that all AAP MLAs of Delhi have together contributed Rs 5.4 crore for flood relief operations.  He further informed that his party’s four MPs have contributed Rs 15 lakh each from their MP local area development fund towards the flood relief fund.

In his letter, the former Delhi chief minister said, ‘The Aam Aadmi Party MLAs wish to contribute Rs 20 lakh each (total Rs 5.4 crore) from their MLA local aread development fund toward relief work in Jammu and Kashmir). In addition to this, all four MPs of AAP have committed to donate Rs 15 lakh each from their MPLAD fund towards this cause,’ read the letter written in English.

Kejriwal has also written a letter to Delhi’s Lieutenant- Governor Najeeb Jung for the early release of funds. He further assured all possible help in relief operations by his party.

‘Please accept this humble contribution from our side. Kindly do let us know if we can be of any more help to our brothers and sisters of JK. We hope and pray to god that life resumes its normal course at the earliest.’

Kejriwal also informed Abdullah that AAP volunteers were working round-the-clock to help the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
