According to the report card, Kejriwal, who is a legislator from New Delhi constituency, is working on 60 projects, identified during the Mohalla Sabhas (public meeting), with approximately Rs 3.2 crore allocated to him. At present, the projects are at various stages of execution, which include water supply, community sports equipment, public amenities, area security, building toilets among others.
‘An Aam Aadmi’s role in the democracy should not be limited to being a voter. If the people choose a leader to represent them, they must stay watchful about whether their leader is doing his job or not’, read the post on social networking site. Kejriwal’s report card, on how he has used his allocated funds, is an attempt to show the transparency by his party’s legislators.
New Delhi constituency includes areas such as Gole Market, Jor Bagh, Sarojini Nagar, Mandi House, Golf Link, Lodi Estate, Kidwai Nagar, BK Dutt Colony and Laxmibai Nagar. Meanwhile, the locals have argued that New Delhi is one of the most developed constituencies, and these tiny projects may not actually make much of a difference.
