Kejriwal meets Pranab, seeks re-election in Delhi

Accusing horse trading by the BJP to form government, Kejriwal threatened to expose those who approach his MLAs with offer of money.

‘I have asked my MLAs to conduct sting operations on anyone who approaches them with money to vote for BJP-led government in Delhi. We will release those recordings, videos and pictures hours before the BJP tries to form government and prove majority in the assembly,’ said Kejriwal, former Delhi chief minister. He also said the BJP is offering Rs 20 crore to each MLA to vote for a BJP-led government in the city and that 15 AAP MLAs have been approached in the last few days. ‘Fresh election is the only option for allowing the people of Delhi to get an elected government which is their democratic right,’ said Kejriwal.

He questioned the decision of Delhi LG Najeeb Jung seeking permission of the President to invite BJP to form the government. ‘The decision of LG to invite the leader of the BJP to form the government would be an open invitation for horse trading and would amount to defiling the Constitution and murdering our democracy. We would request you not to countenance such unconstitutional advice from the LG and use your discretion to order the dissolution of the assembly and call for fresh elections in Delhi,’ reads the memorandum.
