Kejriwal files nomination on Sheila Dikshit turf

In the nomination papers filed for the New Delhi assembly segment on Saturday, Kejriwal has quoted his total assets at Rs 2.20 crore, Delhi’s chief minister Sheila Dikshit has Rs 1.83 crore, while Vardhan has Rs 1.17 crore. Kejriwal and his wife’s total movable assets are worth around Rs 28.5 lakh which includes bank deposits, 300 gm gold and 500 gm silver in his wife’s name. Among immovable assests, he has a flat in Indirapuram and agricultural land at Shivani in Haryana. The flat was purchased in 1998 at Rs 3.5 lakh which now values around Rs 55 lakh.

Kejriwal, Dikshit and his BJP leader Vijender Gupta have filed four nominations each. Gupta’s wife Shobha has filed three nomination papers. Vijender and his wife filed one nomination each on Saturday from New Delhi assembly seat.

On the last day on filing nominations, 24 candidates filed their papers from New Delhi assembly segment.

Accompanied by his family members and hundreds of supporters, Kejriwal reached the election office at Jamnagar House on Saturday morning with his father Gobind Ram Kejriwal and mother Gita Devi. After filing the nomination, Kejriwal said the countdown to end of the misrule of Congress had begun.

His supporters shouted slogans saying ‘Bhrastachar ka ek hi kaal, Kejriwal Kejriwal,’ (Only one warrior to fight corruption, Kejriwal, Kejriwal).
