Kejriwal dismisses charges against elected AAP MLA

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday termed as ‘totally wrong’ the allegations against a party MLA that he molested a Congress candidate’s wife, but said the legislator has been issued a warning for taking out a victory march in violation of the party’s direction.

AAP MLA from Seemapuri, Dharmendra Singh Koli, was booked on Monday on charges of molestation and rioting on a complaint by former Congress legislator Veer Singh Dhingan who was defeated by Koli in the Assembly polls. ‘The allegations levelled against him (Koli) that he molested is totally wrong,’ Kejriwal said.

Dhingan had accused the AAP MLA of entering his house and misbehaving with his wife during a victory procession on Monday. Kejriwal, however, said he disapproved of the celebrations and the party has already warned the young MLA.

‘Koli and his team were taking out a ‘vijay yatra’ which is totally wrong. Whose ‘vijay yatra’ they were taking out? It is neither the victory of Dharmendra Koli, nor of Arvind Kejriwal. It is the victory of the common man.

‘Bursting crackers and dancing in front of his (Dhingan’s) house was wrong. The party has taken strong note of it and issued a warning to him,’ Kejriwal said.
