Kashmir Valley receives fresh snowfall, heavy rains ahead

Most parts of Kashmir Valley including summer capital Srinagar experienced fresh snowfall on Sunday, bringing down the temperatures.

Srinagar and other plain areas of the Valley as well as the higher reaches received fresh snowfall on Sunday with the maximum temperature settling at 3.4 degrees Celsius, MET department said.

The department has predicted heavy rains or snowfall at some places in the state over the next 24 hours.

Reports of snowfall were also received from the famous ski-resort of Gulmarg and Pahalgam and other places in the higher reaches of the Valley, it said.

The MET department said there would be moderate to heavy snowfall at widespread places in Jammu and Kashmir divisions and at scattered places of Ladakh region on Sunday.
