Karkadooma Metro station murder accused kills self in UP

Pawan, accused of shooting his estranged wife and father-in-law outside the Karkadooma Metro station on Tuesday, allegedly committed suicide near the Muradnagar railway station in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, by hanging himself from a tree. A Delhi police team has gone to verify the identity of the deceased, according to a senior Delhi police official.
On Holi eve, Pawan allegedly shot at his wife and her father outside east Delhi's Karkardooma Metro station. While his wife was killed in the shooting, her father was grivieously injured and is fighting for his life in a city hospital.
'The woman, identified as Deepti, 25, was killed while her father, Bishan Das, 55, was critically injured after Deepti’s husband allegedly shot at them outside the Karkardooma Metro station in east Delhi,' said a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official.
'The incident took place at approximately 12:10 pm outside the Karkardooma Metro station. Five empty cartridges and a double-barrel rifle were recovered from the spot,' said a police official.
Officials had added that the accused was on the run after Tuesday’s incident. He fled the spot after shooting the father-daughter duo, leaving his car outside the Metro station. 'The woman, Deepti, and her father, Bishan Das were shot from behind,' the official had said. Deepti was immediately rushed to the Deepak Memorial Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
Bishen Das is undergoing treatment at the Hedgewar Arogya Sansthan Hospital. He is a resident of Chirag Dilli in south Delhi.
According to the police officials, he told the cops that there was a discord between Deepti and her husband, and his daughter had been fighting a divorce case against her husband, Pawan.
