Kanhaiya Kumar’s medical report shows he sustained injuries

Kanhaiya Kumar’s report shows that he received external injuries during the attacks on him at the Patiala House Courts complex.

The medical report  has highlighted that he had multiple abrasions on his left foot and nose apart from tenderness in his left toe.

The report also highlighted that Kanhaiya is suffering from cough and chest pain but has stated that his breath rhythm was normal.

The report contradicts the claims of Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi  who refuted that there were no injuries caused to Kanhaiya when he was taken to the court.

Bassi had said that Kanhaiya Kumar was “well-protected” and he was “not beaten up”. He, however, initiated inquiry into reports of stone pelting on him.

The student leader was produced in the court on Wednesday after the end of his police custody, where a group of men dressed in lawyers’ robes unleashed a brazen attack on him and others, which included journalists, who were present there.

Following the incident, the Delhi Police Commissioner was severely criticised for alleged inaction with regard to the violence that broke out at the Patiala House court, not once but twice.

On Wednesday night, police registered two fresh cases in connection with the violence at the court complex, of which one pertained to the attack on the student leader, who has been arrested on charge of sedition over a controversial event at JNU campus where anti-India slogans were allegedly raised.
