Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Bahujan Samaj Party national president Mayawati while expressing concern over the ‘deteriorating law and order’ in Uttar Pradesh claimed that ‘jungle raj’ and ‘anarchy’ prevails in the Samajwadi Party regime.
In a statement issued here Mayawati said during its past eight months’ rule, the SP government has failed to control the law and order situation besides outbreak of communal riots has made the situation more worrying.
‘Total anarchy prevails in the state and jungle raj is being witnessed in UP,’ she said in a statement. ‘The present government should take lessons from the BSP regime and try to improve law and order.
Mayawati, who returned after campaigning for Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, alleged that the government was not concerned about the deteriorating law and order situation even as the people are facing the brunt.
‘Communal riots have been reported from Mathura, Bareilly, Pratagpgarh and now in Faizabad proves that the SP govt has totally failed to control crime. Besides general crime has also peaked,’ she said.
The former CM also criticised the Akhilesh Yadav government for seeking cheap publicity by distributing unemployment allowances and money to girls.
‘Such schemes would not prove to be of any benefit to the SP as people will first want law and order to be restored,’ she claimed.
