Jobs only on merit in Haryana, says CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday told the State Assembly that the present Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state was keen to bring fairness and transparency in recruitment system in order to check nepotism.
“Unlike earlier, when <g data-gr-id="24">favouritism</g> ruled <g data-gr-id="23">roost</g>, we are committed to <g data-gr-id="22">bring</g> fairness and transparency in the recruitment system. Jobs will be given only on merit,” Khattar <g data-gr-id="21">asserted,</g> while replying to a question raised by state Bharatiya Janata Party president and party MLA Subhash <g data-gr-id="20">Barala</g> during the Question Hour.
<g data-gr-id="15">Barala</g> had sought to know from the CM “whether there is any proposal under consideration of the Government to provide jobs on merit to <g data-gr-id="18">check</g> nepotism in the recruitment..”
Khattar said the state government has decided to make recruitment on the basis of written examination followed by the interview where the marks of the interview shall be 12 per cent of the total marks for the posts to be advertised and recommended by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission in case of all Group-C posts.
The Chief Minister also said that the process to recruit lecturers was on while out of 761 vacancies of doctors, 389 were set to join the service soon after being recruited through a transparent process.
