JNU V-C appeals for ‘sensitivity not criticism’

In an emotional appeal to all those apparently defaming the University, the Jawaharlal Nehru University’s Vice-Chancellor on Friday asked for “Sensitivity not Criticism” in the “time of need”.

In his appeal he addressed to those alleging the JNU involved in all kinds of wrongdoings. V-C Professor, M JAgadesh Kumar said: “In the backdrop of the recent incidents, the university campus needs sensitivity not criticism.

“The JNU, a composite university, attracts students from diverse sections of society in India and abroad to pursue studies. Many have emerged as leaders in their respective fields and contributed towards the betterment of society,” Kumar added.

Earlier to this, a similar appeal was made by many professor including an appeal by the former JNU Vice-Chancellor Sudhir Kumar Sopory in which he dubbed the allegations made by the RSS mouthpiece Panchjanya that the university is home to “a huge anti-national block” as “totally baseless”.
