In another sensational sexual exploitation case in the Jawaharlal Nehru University, a student has alleged that a senior functionary of All India Student Federation (AISF) sexually exploited her for over seven months and also took Rs 60,000 from her.
A poster related to the allegations was found pasted at every hostel in the JNU campus. The victim is said to be a senior student leader of AISF and was the vice-president of JNUSU in 2013. She was also a councillor from the School of Social Sciences (SSS) in 2012. The victim raised the issue through social media.
She claimed that the culprit Ashish Raghuvanshi who was convener of the Madhya Pradesh unit of the party was in relationship with her for over seven months. “He established sexual relationship with me through fraudulent means and also took Rs 60,000. He never returned the money,” she alleged.
The victim claimed that after she brought the matter in the knowledge of the senior leaders the accused was removed from the post of convener of Madhya Pradesh. “The senior leaders asked me not to go to police and assured that the money would be refunded. But now they are not picking up my phone,” alleged the victim.
The girl has not filed a police complaint yet. This is the second sensational case of sexual exploitation in the campus. Earlier, the campus came into limelight after a PhD student Anmol was accused of raping another PhD scholar on the pretext of providing her with a movie. They had a conversation on Facebook and the accused raped the girl when she came to his hostel. After high drama, the accused surrendered and is now in Tihar Jail.
