Jilted lover throws acid at 22-yr-old

A 22-year-old married woman suffered serious burn injuries on Friday when her jilted lover threw acid at her face in the Vijay Nagar area here, after she refused his proposal, police said.
Lakhan (30) had proposed to the victim two days back at her residence, while her husband was out on work.
But she rejected his proposal. This made the accused angry, a source in the police said. The acid attack took place on Friday morning when the victim, a housemaid, was on her way to work. The victim was immediately rushed to hospital, with 50 per cent burn injuries, Yadav said.
A case has been registered against the accused, but he is absconding.
