Jhabua blast: DNA test on bodies to check if Kaswa is dead

A day after questioning the wife of the main accused, Rajendra Kaswa, in the Petlawad explosion that killed 89 people, the police on Thursday decided to conduct DNA profiling of three unidentified bodies to ascertain if <g data-gr-id="14">Kaswa</g>, who is missing, is actually dead.

<g data-gr-id="13">Kaswa’s</g> wife Pramila has told police that her husband had rushed to the building minutes before the explosion.

“Three unidentified bodies of the Petlawad blast are lying at the morgue of the Maharaja Yeswantrao Hospital, Indore. We are going to take samples of family members of the accused and match it with the profile of the bodies. This exercise will prove if <g data-gr-id="16">Kaswa</g> is dead,” said Jhabua Superintendent of Police GG Pandey. He added teams have been formed to nab <g data-gr-id="17">Kaswa</g>, who carries a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Meanwhile, a police officer said Pramila said as soon as <g data-gr-id="18">Kaswa</g> received the information on <g data-gr-id="19">phone</g> that smoke is billowing out from his godown, he rushed to the spot and did not return.
