A 58-year-old jeweller was shot at when he resisted a robbery attempt in his shop in outer Delhi's Rohini area.
On Friday, at approximately 1 pm, three unidentified armed assailants managed a friendly entry in a jewellery shop, Sandeep Jewellers, at sector 6 Rohini. Owner Vinod Malhotra was alone in the shop at the time. When the three attempted to rob the shop at gun point, Malhotra resisted and received a bullet in his left leg.
According to Malhotra two of the three accused were wearing helmets and all three were riding a black motorcycle. They allegedly fired two rounds of bullets in the air, before shooting him in the leg. Hearing the sound of the gun shots, neighbours rushed in, but failed to nab the robbers. A call was made to the police control room. Malhotra has been admitted to a hospital and is said to be out of danger. Police are examining the CCTV footage of the shop.
